Named one of the best races in the country (thanks, USA Today!), Richmond’s biggest block party is the place to be on April 13. With 25,000 participants, you’re bound to be entertained— whether it’s by costumed runners, Spirit Groups, live music, or the beautiful, flat course. Throw in a race for kids and a rockin’ post-race party, and you’ve got yourself one of the best social events of the year!
This one-mile event for kids ages 5-12 features all of the excitement of the 10k. They’ll kick off the morning by warming up with music and mingling with some local mascots until the start gun goes off. After racing their little hearts out, they’ll finish to the roar of a crowd through the same chute as the 10k-ers, where they’ll get a commemorative medal and head into a secure meeting area.
