Meet The Team

John Cassilly- Store Manager

John likes to say that he got in with the "wrong crowd" after running his first marathon in 2006 - "I started running ultra-distance trail events."  John was a runner in high school but ironically, preferred the shorter events - up to 400m.  "I've served as a pace leader for the Richmond Marathon for the past 6 years and love helping people realize their goals."  In his spare time, John likes spending time with his wife, daughters, and their dog Enzo.  They also enjoy sampling the amazing Richmond restaurant scene, travelling, and camping as a family!

Jason Driscoll

Jason has been an active member of the Richmond running community for the past 2 years after moving here from Northern Virginia.  In college he competed as a cross country and track athlete at the University of Mary Washington and also assistant coached there for one season.  Here in Richmond he enjoys long runs utilizing the James River trail system and racing in the occasional 5k or 10k. Jason is a self-proclaimed "big nerd" when it comes to running shoes and loves to use his experience to help people find the right shoes for them as well as give training advice to beginners and veterans alike.

Seth Huffman

Seth is a native Virginian who has recently moved back to the glorious commonwealth after a few years of seminary in the Midwest. He has had experience running middle-distance indoor/outdoor track in high school and has developed a love over the past 5 years for distance running on roads as well as trails. He completed the 2013 Blue Ridge Marathon in his hometown of Roanoke and has a fond passion for running in the mountains of Virginia. As a recent newlywed, Seth and his wife enjoy running and exploring the various parks, trail systems, and roads of Richmond. When not running or talking about running, he enjoys cycling, reading, music, and finding new coffee shops in Richmond. He is happy to meet your running needs and goals, and he will probably ask you about your favorite running, walking, hiking, and cycling routes.

Spencer Blanton

Originally from Richmond, Spencer moved back after college in South Carolina to be closer to her family.  In high school, she participated in tennis and track, which led to the completion of her first half marathon in 2012.  Since then, she has continued to play tennis and run.  When she is bored, you can find her wandering the aisles of Target debating if she needs any of what she has picked up.
She absolutely loves being a part of the Fleet Feet family and helping the Richmond community be more active!

Emily Stroetzel

Emily is a recent addition to the RVA community from Annapolis, MD. She found her niche in running after exploring other forms of exercise to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Since moving Richmond she has joined Seal Team PT and has never felt better. Prior to Fleet Feet Sports, Emily worked with Charm City Run on their Event Management Team. When not running, she enjoys traveling, hiking, visiting breweries, and sitting on the beach. Emily is very excited to apart of Fleet Feet Richmond Family and can’t wait to see you in the community.

Abby Kaufmann

Abby is currently a senior at the University of Lynchburg, majoring in biology and chemistry.  She started running as a form of stress relief and ever since has fallen in love with it.  She is planning on training for my first half marathon in the fall of 2018.

Sarah Oertel

After going to school at Virginia Tech, Sarah was quickly bitten by the distance-running bug.  She has raced everything from the 800 meter to a marathon, coached cross country, and plans on taking on an ultra after running the Richmond Marathon this year.  When not running the roads or frolicking on the trails, you can find Sarah doing agility with her awesome dog, Big Booty Judy, or eating copious amount of ice cream.  Sarah is excited to help you chase your running, walking, or daily movement goals and be a part of the Richmond community!

Beth Diefenthaler

Beth grew up in the Museum District of RVA. She began running during college. After college she began teaching and coaching cross country at a local middle school. She has partipated in every distance from 5ks to marathons, but her favorite distance is the 13.1. When not found at RVA’s best running store, she can be found supporting her 2 boys on the sidelines of soccer and cross country or dipping a line in the James River.

Meghan Nguyen

Meghan is a recent transplant to RVA. She fell for running shortly after college and is still head over heels in love. She comes from a background in sports, fitness, & event management. The past decade has provided her with the daily opportunity to build agility, speed, and endurance through raising four young children. She has completed two marathons, three half marathons and many other shorter distance races. She is currently training for the Richmond Marathon. Meghan is very excited to be a part of the Fleet Feet team and helping people move comfortably.
